Wychwood Festival - 2nd - 4th June 2006
First up of the band's festival appearances will be the excellent Wychwood Festival which takes place in the grounds of Cheltenham Racecourse. This is only the second year of Wychwood but it's already established itself as a great event for bands and punters alike.
MLJ played the first Wychwood last year largely by essentially blagging an impromptu set in the beer tent. Well, the drinkers seemed to like it and we now have an official slot in this year's festival playing The Other Stage on the Saturday (June 3rd) around 2pm.
The festival runs from 2nd-4th June and if you'd like to go please let us know how many and what types of tickets (day/weekend etc - check website for dtls) you want and we will submit a block booking for tickets - do this by May 22nd as tickets are selling fast apparently.
The bill for the Saturday includes...The Saw Doctors, Martha Wainwright, Chris Difford, Handsome Family and our old friends from Guilfest and our Apartment gig last year..This Is Seb Clarke. On the Friday there is Billy Bragg, Seth Lakeman and on the Sunday Eliza Carthy.
For the full list of performers check out their website.
The Big Session Festival, Leicester Sat 17th June
This festival is staged in and around the De Montford Hall, Leicester and seems to revolve around the almost mathematical notion that music + alcohol = happiness. Frankly that's a difficult notion for us in Vanity Towers to argue with and we're ready for the challenge.
It seems like this will be a hectic evening - we've got an acoustic 30 minute set lined up to start at 8:30pm We're told it's a real plug in and play (no sound-check) deal - so purists may head for the exit while those happy with the rough, ready and fermented could just be in their element...
TROWBRIDGE VILLAGE PUMP FESTIVAL Jul 20-23rd 2006
This is the big event of the summer for us - a mainstage appearance rubbing shoulders with the likes of The Waterboys, Suzanne Vega, Eliza Carthy.
We would really appreciate as many mlj supporters up front to support us. If you take a look at the festival site we're sure you'll be keen to visit this great, family friendly festival in god's own county of Wiltshire!
We're not booking tickets for this one so please visit their website for ticket information. Make a note of the date : Friday July 21st Trowbridge Festival, main acoustic stage 7:30pm.
EASTBOURNE LAMMAS FESTIVAL (Sat Aug 5th)
Our final summer festival (as far as we know at the time of writing) is the Lammas Folk Festival in Eastbourne - we'll be playing on the Saturday afternoon - this looks like a fun event and we've been promised some fine beer (seems to be a theme in this newsletter) so if you fancy a day by the seaside first Saturday in August you know where to be...
FREE STUFF !!!!
We still have some T-shirts to give away - and you'd look just fine, dandy and hip as a hip thing wandering around the festivals wearing that must have MLJ T-Shirt with the famous wish-hound logo on it wouldn't you?
So the deal still is...spread the word about the band.
If you can get 3 other people to sign up to our online mailing list by the end of May we'll send you a free MR LOVE & JUSTICE T-Shirt from our Cafepress merchandise store. And we'll send them one too!

Harvest Festival ! - 4 September 2005
